DeCaro Doran Welcomes Matthew A. Ranck as Of Counsel

DeCaro, Doran is pleased to announce the addition of Matthew A. Ranck as Of Counsel.
 
Matthew A. Ranck has been in the practice of law since 1992. He is barred in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, and concentrates his practice in Professional Malpractice Litigation, Insurance Defense, and Legal Ethics. 
 
Born in 1965 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Mr. Ranck attended Towson State University, where he graduated in 1988 with a B.S. in Business Administration, with concentrations in both Marketing and International Business.  He obtained his Juris Doctor in 1991, with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law and was a member of the Order of the Coif, a distinction bestowed upon the top ten percent of law school graduates.
 
Following graduation from law school, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marshall A. Levin, where he assisted the trial judge with all phases of the pre-trial and trial proceedings in Maryland’s historic mass consolidated asbestos trials from 1991-1992.  Thereafter, he became associated with the law firm of Eccelston and Wolf, PC.  In 1997, he became a principal and was later elected to the firm’s Board of Directors, upon which he served for over ten years.
 
During his career, his many accomplishments included the successful representation of attorneys, real estate agents and brokers, architects, engineers, accountants, insurance agents and other professionals in complex professional liability claims alleging malpractice, negligence, breach of contract, fraud, ethical and statutory violations, and business torts before the state and federal courts. In addition, he has also successfully represented attorneys facing ethical complaints and licensure investigations in matters before the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission, Virginia State Bar, and District of Columbia Bar.
 
Mr. Ranck has regularly presented at seminars and lectures for a variety of professional groups concerning professional liability issues, developments in the law, legal ethics, risk management, loss prevention/claim avoidance, and mitigation.
 
Matt currently resides in Crofton, Maryland with his wife and two of his three sons, and is an active member of the community.
