Partner Christopher Dunn Wins Jury Verdict

September 30, 2015

Christopher Dunn recently won a five day jury trial for his client in the matter of Haddad v Hess.  In this case, which was tried before the Honorable Leo Green, Jr., in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland, the defense admitted negligence, as this case involved a rear- end motor vehicle accident.  During the course of the trial, the Plaintiff boarded $17,025 in past medical specials, claimed future medical specials in the amount of $139,207, (which Judge Green struck), $97,174  in past lost wages, and made a future lost wage claim of $372,768.

Following five days of testimony by both the Plaintiff and Defendant and several expert witnesses, including two orthopedic surgeons, two vocational rehabilitation counselors, and an economist, the Jury returned a verdict finding that none of the Plaintiff’s injuries were causally related to the automobile accident and no compensation was awarded to the Plaintiff.  Prior to trial, the Plaintiff demanded $850,000, and the Defendant offered $100,000.

This was an impressive win by Mr. Dunn for his client.
