Melissa Thrift is a native of Maryland.  Melissa graduated, cum laude, from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2013 where she earned a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice.  She then earned a Paralegal Certificate from the ABA accredited Anne Arundel Community College in 2017.  

Prior to joining DeCaro Doran in 2024, she began her legal career in Annapolis as an intern at the Anne Arundel Circuit Court and then began working for the next seven years as a paralegal at a firm in Bowie, Maryland.   She is currently assigned to the Insurance Defense Litigation Practice Group under the direction of Managing Partner, Thomas Doran.  

Melissa currently resides in Anne Arundel County, Maryland with her golden retriever, Leo.
